L-BioStat is a research unit within the Department of Public Health and Primary Care at the Medical Faculty of KU Leuven. Methodological research focusses on medical statistics, epidemiology, statistical bio-informatics, statistical genetics, amongst others. L-BioStat is a partner of the Leuven Statistics Research Centre (LStat) and the Interuniversity Institute for Biostatistics and statistical Bio-informatics (I-BioStat). Staff members of L-BioStat have published extensively in methodological and applied journals, and have taken positions in international professional societies such as ASA, RSS, ISCB, and IBS.

Project

• Be part of the educational team responsible for practical sessions to students in medicine, pharmacy, nursing, etc. 
• Perform research leading to a PhD in biostatistics 
• Provide limited statistical support to researchers within Biomedicine and the University Hospital 
• Actively participate in national and international conferences and meetings

Profile

Offer

The selected candidate will be offered a diverse set of educational and consultancy duties combined with scientific research. Employment will be in an interesting team where research is conducted which is highly relevant for the general public. Appointment is initially for 2 years, starting on 01-11-2024 (can be discussed), with the option of two extensions with a maximum duration of 6 years. Compensation is according to scale 43.
