Job description

We seek a driven and knowledgeable postdoctoral researcher for organic synthesis of new compounds for redox flow battery applications. The work will be carried out in the research group of Associate Professor Helena Lundberg at the Department of Chemistry, KTH, in collaboration with Professor Mårten Ahlquist’s group at the same department and the research group of Assistant Professor Amirreza Khataee at the Department of Chemical Engineering, KTH. Specifically, the work will focus on synthesis, isolation and characterization of redox active compounds, including electroanalytical evaluation. Administrative tasks and supervision of students may become part of the work.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree in organic chemistry, electrochemistry or closely related area. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.
  • Documented scientific skills in organic synthesis.
  • Documented ability to work independently as well as collaborative in a group.
  • Documented pedagogical skills and experience of supervising students on Bachelor and Master level.
  • The ability to skillfully communicate in English, verbally and in writing, since it is required in the daily work.

Preferred qualifications

Knowledge and skills that are meritorious for the position: 

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline
  • Documented scientific skills in electroanalytical techniques
  • Documented scientific skills in mass spectrometry
  • Awareness of diversity and equal treatment policies and practices

Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.

About the employment

The position offered is for, at the most, two years.

A position as a postdoctoral fellow is a time-limited qualified appointment focusing mainly on research, intended as a first career step after a dissertation.
