Job description

We invite applications for up to three Postdoc positions in the field of hybrid control for multi-robot systems. The successful candidates will join a research group that is focusing on new control methodologies for multi-robot systems.

It is expected that the successful candidates will conduct research in this area, interact with doctoral and master students, and be involved in collaborative work in national and international projects. The position is associated with multiple projects, including the EU projects ERC CoG LEAFHOUND, Horizon-Europe Innovation Council (EIC) project “Symbolic Logic Framework for Situational Awareness in Mixed Autonomy” (SYMAWARE), and Digital Futures project “Towards Safe Smart Construction: Algorithms, Digital Twins and Infrastructures” (DF Smart Construction)

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.

Applicants should have a doctoral degree related to at least one of the following research areas:

  • Multi-agent control systems
  • Distributed control of networked systems
  • Formal methods for robot control synthesis

The successful applicant should have research expertise and an outstanding research and publication record. Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills are a requirement. We are looking for a strongly motivated person, who can work independently, as well as within a research group. Applicants also need to possess teaching abilities. Excellent command of English orally and in writing is required.

Preferred qualifications

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline
  • Experience implementing and validating experimentally control/planning strategies
  • Experience in EU projects’ participation
  • Awareness of diversity and equal treatment issues with a particular focus on gender equality

Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.

About the employment
