Job description

Machine learning-enabled sensor fusion is gaining tremendous interest in various application domains, and is of particular interest in challenging, dynamic environments. The research will focus on advancing the state-of-the-art in real-time sensor fusion for XR, including perception, data transmission, processing and rendering for real-time situational awareness. We will investigate architectures in the device-edge-cloud continuum, design a low-latency processing pipeline for privacy preserving sensor fusion, with a focus on tasks such as cooperative SLAM based on camera, LIDAR, audio, etc.

The position is within the Vinnova funded Network-Enabled eXchange of critical information in Systems-of-Systems (NEXSoS) project and will involve tight cooperation with industrial partners (Ericsson, Combitech, RISE) besides excellent opportunities for problem driven fundamental research in cooperation with the TECoSA competence center (https://www.tecosa.center.kth.se/) at KTH.

What we offer

  • A position at a leading technical university that generates knowledge and skills for a sustainable future
  • A multidisciplinary research environment with a creative, international and dynamic working environment, including excellent international collaborations through several related research activities (see e.g. here: http://tiny.cc/zg5nzz) and the TECoSA center (https://www.tecosa.center.kth.se/).
  • Engaged and ambitious colleagues along with a creative, international and dynamic working environment
  • Work in Stockholm, in close proximity to nature
  • Help to relocate and be settled in Sweden and at KTH
