Job description

The Division of Network and Systems Engineering at the Department of Computer Science is looking for a postdoctoral researcher in performance prediction and management of networked services. The research will center around prediction and forecasting of service metrics as a basis for dynamic resource allocation, in order to achieve management objectives. The solutions will be based on online statistical learning methods including reinforcement learning. A key challenge will be to develop solutions that scale in service complexity. The research will involve both analytical modeling and analysis, as well as implementation and experimentation on a network testbed.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.
  •  The candidate should have strong research expertise from one or more areas: cloud computing and networking, machine learning/AI, statistics.
  • We see that you have no problem collaborating with faculty and students at the department and with collaborating research groups at KTH.
  • The successful applicant should have a strong publication record. Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
  • We are looking for a highly motivated person, who can work independently.
  • You have good knowledge of English in speech and writing as it is required in the daily work to present and publish research results.

Preferred qualifications

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline.
  • You have an awareness of diversity and equal treatment issues with a particular focus on gender equality.
  • It is an advantage if you can demonstrate pedagogical skills.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.

About the employment

The position offered is for, at the most, two years.

A position as a postdoctoral fellow is a time-limited qualified appointment focusing mainly on research, intended as a first career step after a dissertation.
