“Development and Validation of anti-microRNA Therapeutics for Personalized Medicine in Cancer”
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position or MS/PhD in the Alsulaiman lab at KAUST. The applicant will focus on developing and validating therapies for cancer based on targeting and blocking microRNA using synthetic nucleic acid-based therapeutic agents. The project will involve collaboration work with local hospitals for clinical specimens as well as international world-leading universities.
The candidate must possess expertise in six techniques listed below. For postdoc applicants: this must be demonstrated through published high-impact peer-reviewed articles. Applicants must have received their Ph.D. degrees within the past 5 years.

In your cover letter, please provide information regarding your experience with each of the six areas below, supported by reference to your published work (in the case of postdocs).
1) Cell culture (preferably cancer cell lines);
2) Transfection of therapeutic agents (preferably nucleic-acid based such as silencing RNA);
3) Extraction of nucleic acids and proteins from cells;
4) PCR and PCR primer design (ideally for microRNA and mRNA expression);
5) Western Blotting;
6) (Bonus) Any work related to nucleic acid detection or bioassay development (preferably specific to microRNA).
