The Strategic Research Programme in Cancer at KI, Cancer Research KI, is an umbrella organisation with the aim to represent and facilitate the cancer research field at KI, which is a broad and multidisciplinary research area with research groups at all KI institutions.
The Cancer Research KI organisation is looking for a research administrator to help coordinate the initiatives of the programme with a variety of duties with extra focus on communication, as a member of the administrative team of Cancer Research KI. The position will be financed 50% from EU grants and thus about half of the working time will be dedicated to administration of EU projects.
The position offers a varied spectrum of tasks:
You will be based at Biomedicum but may attend meetings at several sites around KIs both campuses.
We are looking for an early career stage researcher at KI, perhaps in the first years after Ph.D., or a highly experienced research and EU project administrator, to be a valuable member of the Cancer Research KI research coordination team, taking part in running the daily operations of the organization, project management and various responsibilities in ongoing EU projects.
The research administrator would preferably have a Ph.D. in the biomedical field, and/or very good prior knowledge of the KI system. It would also be an advantage if you have prior work experience from academia and/or industry with similar tasks. Good organising skills are of great importance, with the ability to manage multiple projects, communicate with various stakeholders and work in a fast-paced environment. Good communication and data visualization skills are highly important, as well as an interest to develop communication channels for the organization. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities such as communication and social skills and the ability to cooperate. Good written English skills are required and knowledge of Swedish (spoken/written) is advantageous.

Cancer Research KI is an initiative funded by the Swedish government to strengthen and expand the already strong cancer research at Karolinska Institutet. Cancer Research KI works to increase contacts between cancer researchers from different disciplines, from basic tumour biology to clinical oncology. In addition, to increase cooperation with external actors such as other Universities (nationally and internationally), health care and industrial collaborators.
