Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

The research group

Our group works on the relationships between oxygen flux and tissue function, physiology and pathology. We have in recent years focused on how immune cells, and in particular T cells, are influenced by oxygen. We have used our findings to increase the immunotherapeutic efficacy of T cells in cancer models and are extending these exciting findings in our current work.

Your mission

The project focusses on how tissue and immune cell generated metabolites influence T cell fate. The metabolites we are interested in are chiefly but not exclusively regulated by oxygen and the HIF pathway of hypoxic response. The project will build on observations of effects on in vivo immunotherapeutic efficacy through immunometabolite administration.

Your profile

To be eligible for employment as a postdoctor a Ph.D or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to a Swedish Ph.D is required. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled at the latest at the time of the employment decision. It is considered as an advantage if you have completed your doctoral degree within the last three years, if there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier.

We are in particular interested in candidates with graduate level expertise and training in immunology. Experience with cytotoxic (CD8+) T cell culture and experimental procedures in both murine and human systems would be of the greatest interest.
