Job description

Thematic and research challenges

The surgical block of the future for a minimally invasive and accurate intervention, a secure gesture, is becoming a reality thanks to methodological and technological innovations. The development of this new generation of interventional environments is based on

  • innovative Virtual/Mixed Reality technologies and their integration into the operating room to optimize surgical assistance through personalized planning and multimodal intra-operative visualization.
  • the development of accurate interventional imaging based on joint Ultrasound and X-Ray modalities.
  • the development and integration into clinical routine of new sensors to optimize each phase of surgery: personalized pre-operative planning, minimally invasive intervention, and patient follow-up.
  • the exploitation of heterogeneous data by artificial intelligence approaches to identify new signatures and new multimodal indicators allowing to evaluate or predict the evolution of a treatment or a complication during the different phases of a gesture surgical (pre-, per- and post-operative).

The activity will take place in a multidisciplinary context. The evaluation, optimization and validation of the various developments will be based on the LaTIM’s (LaTIM - INSERM U1101) technological and clinical research platforms, to facilitate technology transfers.
