Process Engineer Dry Etch

What you will do

After receiving an intensive on-the-job training, you will be responsible for dry etch process sustaining and development. You will work in a dynamic multidisciplinary and multicultural environment in close cooperation with Researchers, Hardware Engineers, Operations, Device and Process Experts.
Your key responsibilities are:

  1. Support daily process engineering activities in both 200mm/300mm cleanrooms in close collaboration with Hardware and Operations teams.
  2. Drive the etch process development in several projects, guide and comprehend the interactions between the etch and other process steps with Integration teams.
  3. You will be assigned several tool ownerships within the Dry Etch, Strip and Implant process team and contribute to improve Cycle Time, Quality, Cost and Safety.
  4. Contribute to the process stability, process improvements, problem prevention and for the introduction of new processes.
  5. Troubleshoot issues, focus on root cause analysis and solutions by applying standard methodologies (8D, FMEA)
  6. You work in shifts (early/late) and 1 weekend in 3

Who you are

  • You obtained a Master’s degree in Chemistry, Physics, (Industrial) Engineering in Electronics or equal and display strong engineering skills and mindset.
  • Ideally you have >5 years of experience in dry etch process engineering; but young graduates are encouraged to apply as well.
  • You like to take ownership, you are well organized, with a good attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills are required.
  • You easily adapt to changing priorities.
  • You have a methodical and insightful approach to problem diagnosis and resolution.
  • Given the international character of imec, fluency in English is a must.
