as soon as possible to promote their own academic qualifications within the meaning of Section 2 (1) of the German Academic Fixed-Term Contract Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz).

The field of innovation economics deals with the analysis of innovation processes and their economic effects. The research focus is on gaining knowledge about the development, dissemination and implementation of new technologies as well as the economic framework conditions. As part of the project "Sustainable III-Vbased semiconductor devices: substitution and recycling strategies for critical elements in highly efficient optoelectronic energy materials (SustEnMat)", which is funded by the Carl Zeiss Foundation for 5 years, you will work closely with researchers from the natural sciences and engineering. The central task is to develop substitution and Circular strategies for critical elements in the field of solar energy generation from an (innovation) economic perspective.

Your tasks

Your job tasks include:

  • Collaboration in the development of a comprehensive database on critical elements and their use in products/technologies
  • Application of innovation economics issues in the context of the circular economy
  • Technology impact assessment or assessment of the innovation potential with regard to critical elements
  • Supporting the group of Economic Policy in teaching and research

Your profile

For being part of the selection process is needed:

  • Completed Master's degree with above-average performance, preferably in an economics program (economics, industrial engineering, business informatics)

Following competences are desirable:

  • Knowledge of empirical methods for data analysis
  • Independent and responsible way of working in an innovative research environment as well as the ability to work in a scientific environment.
  • Work with the aim of a doctorate/habilitation
  • Enjoy working in an interdisciplinary team
  • Good German and English language skills

In principle, the job is also suitable for part-time employment. The extent to which a part-time request can be granted, in particular with regard to the location and scope of part-time work, will be examined on the basis of the needs of the service.
