IÉSEG School of Management and Lille Economics and Management (LEM, CNRS) invite applications for two 2-year, fully funded Postdoctoral positions in Economics with the emphasis on economic preferences (risk/ambiguity, time, social), and subjective beliefs/expectations at its Lille campus.

The postdoctoral researchers will join iRisk - the IÉSEG Research Center on Risk and Uncertainty (https://irisk.ieseg.fr) - to work on a European research project (Horizon Europe). The project aims to develop and operationalize multi-objective decision-making frameworks to help evaluate effective, yet socially and politically feasible, climate and environmental policies in Europe. 

We collaborate with a consortium of European institutions and will work in close collaborations with researchers and specialists with various backgrounds.

The selected candidates will also be involved with some teaching activities, though to a limited extent. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A PhD in Economics (or be close to complete it). The candidate is expected to possess strong analytical skills and a commitment to research excellence.
  • Applicants should be completely fluent in English. 
  • Experience in conducting theoretical and/or applied research using both analytical and numerical methods in one or more of the following areas is requested:
  1. Behavioral/experimental economics (preferably specialized in decision-making under uncertainty, intertemporal or social choice)
  2. Decision theory (with strong interest in elicitation of economic primitives and their applications) 
  3. Applied Bayesian statistics (preferably experience with hierarchical modelling and simulation techniques)

WORKING CONDITIONS 

The selected applicants are expected to begin their assignment in 2023. Gross salary will be competitive with other European research and academic institutions. The researchers will be based in Lille (on the site of IÉSEG School of Management).

RESEARCH TEAM 

The candidates will be working directly with Profs. Loïc Berger and Thomas Epper, and the iRisk team in Lille and Paris. They will also be expected to interact with Profs. Abdellaoui (HEC Paris) and Vieder (Ghent University).
