limited for three years. The salary grade is based on the job characteristics of the collective agreement applicable to Goethe University (TV-G-U).

Research area:

We are looking for an early career scientist who is willing to start an independent research group in the field of light-regulation. We are specifically interested in a person with track record and research interest in

  • theoretical description of photochemical processes on any time- and length scale or
  • synthesis of new photocages / photoswitches and implementation in bioactive compounds or
  • spectroscopy of the dynamics of light-triggered systems or new photo trigger principles or
  • application of photoregulation to membrane systems, photopharmacology, or nucleic acids

Your profile:

For this position we are looking for a committed and self-motivated individual with good communication and collaboration skills and the desire to take on leadership responsibility in a multidisciplinary international environment. A university degree, an excellent doctorate in natural or life sciences, and an outstanding publication record are required. The person is expected to secure their further funding through successful grant applications and especially participate as “junior research group” in an SFB application initiative with the DFG.
