Description of the research activity:

The collaboration involves two research activities: 1) Realization of an ontology for climate and environmental risk assessment suitable for the context of Virtual Knowledge Graphs. The information needed to realize this artifact will be gathered through interaction with domain experts, analysis of literature on risk management and assessment, and analysis of application scenarios identified in the project. Particular attention will be paid to the formal modeling of the interactions between the qualitative description of the risk factors that characterize an Impact Chain and the quantitative data testifying to their concrete occurrence in space and time. 2) Specification of mappings from data sources (including openEO APIs and related processing modules) to the CRIMA ontology developed in 1), as well as study of opportunities for automated analysis and synthesis (“bootstrapping”) of the mappings.
