We are looking to fill the following position in Faculty 2: Computer Science and Engineering begin- ning by April 01, 2025:

At our university, you can not only pass on your knowledge, but also actively conduct research and drive forward the development of innovative methods and technologies in the field of big data.

Your tasks:

  • You will teach courses in the a. m. subject area in the basic computer science subjects of our Bachelor's degree programs and in our Master's degree programs in German and English.
  • You will be actively involved in the research-related project modules of our Master's degree programs and supervise our students in their project work and Bachelor’s and Master’s theses.
  • You will be involved in applied and interdisciplinary research, particularly in the a. m. subject area and initiate/maintain collaborations with practice partners in Germany and abroad.
  • You are committed to the further development of the university and contribute to the internationalization of our university.

Your profile:

  • You have a successfully completed a scientific or technical university degree in computer sci- ence, mathematics, physics or a comparable subject and a relevant doctorate
  • You have at least five years of professional experience, including at least three years outside the university sector, ideally in at least two of the following subject areas:
    large-scale data analysis with AI / data organization and data flow management / large standard and non-standard databases / use of current big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, MongoDB, Kafka
  • You are committed, team-oriented and enjoy interdisciplinary, diversity-sensitive work in teaching and research.

In addition following points are desirable:

  • You have initial teaching experience, for example, teaching assignments or didactic training.
  • You can demonstrate your academic qualifications through publications (conferences and/or journals), the acquisition of third-party funding and the successful implementation of research projects.

The position is open-ended. When first appointed to a professorship, employment is initially in a probationary civil servant relationship or in a permanent employment relationship with a three-year probationary period.
