The selected candidate will be involved in maintaining and further developing the nuclear resonance programme at the ID14 Nuclear Resonance beamline. The person is requested to perform their own research program exploiting the unique technical capabilities of the beamline, especially in high energy and/or high spatial resolution. It is expected that the person will contribute to the operation of ID14 and support its user community in the preparation and successful execution of their experiments.

- PhD in physics, chemistry, material science, or another closely related field obtained less than three years ago

- Experience with scattering techniques (in-house or preferably at large scale facilities) is desirable
- Understanding in monochromatization concepts and/or a background in X-ray (nuclear) Inelastic Scattering techniques would be an asset
- Ability to interact with multi-disciplinary staff and facility users
- Good time management skills and ability to prioritize
- English proficiency (working language at the ESRF)

The salary will be calculated on the basis of relevant qualifications and professional experience.
