In the context of succession planning of our Head of Department "Materials Meet Life", we are looking for a

Head of Department "Materials Meet Life"

As a designated member of Empa’s directorate team, you will play a significant role in shaping the strategy, direction and culture of Empa and you will be responsible for a research department dealing with novel materials and systems for Health and Performance. Thanks to your widely recognized scientific achievements and an extensive background in natural-, life-, or material-science related topics you will initiate new fields of research. You have an extensive network in science as well as in the clinical environment and you have a track record in collaborating with industry. This will enable you to expand Empa’s national and international network of key players in science, industry, health sector, administration and politics and to represent the interests of Empa in relevant committees.

At Empa, you will take on a diverse and interesting role in a dynamic and internationally oriented research institute with a focus on health and medtech, energy, sustainable building technologies, nanostructured materials, mobility and environmental technologies.
