The Department of Chemistry (Rennes, France) invites applications for 1 post-doc position (10 months, with possible extension to 12 months) on “organic matter-mineral redox reactions at Fe- and Mn- oxyhydroxides/water interfaces”.
The successful candidate will be contributing to our ongoing efforts in elucidating molecular-scale reactions at mineral surfaces involving a variety of gravimetric analysis and in situ time resolved spectroscopic techniques (ATR-FTIR, TGA/MS, Cryo-XPS, etc.), and in translating molecular-level information to observations made at the larger scales using thermodynamics and reactive transport modeling.
To qualify, applicants must hold a Ph.D. in surface chemistry, environmental chemistry, geochemistry or related areas. Required skills for the post to be filled are: vibration spectroscopy, redox chemistry and modeling.
The successful candidate will have access to excellent experimental and computational research facilities that are supported by competent scientific staff, and will also benefit from attractive working conditions. He will also benefit from close interactions with other Ph.D. students and post-docs recruited by the PI’s group, as well as from numerous international collaborations (Sweden, Germany, USA, etc.).
If interested, please urgently contact K. Hanna (firstname.lastname@example.org) for further information. Your application (cover letter, curriculum vitae including names of references) should be sent by email.Continue reading
