Ca’ Foscari is looking for a researcher of Physics of matter capable of inspiring students to become game-changers in their own fields and to make a genuine difference in the world. 

Teaching: The candidate will be asked to carry out no less than 60 hours of teaching activities on topics consistent with the academic discipline and with the didactic requests of the Department. The teaching activity will be carried out within the degree courses of the Department, being mainly involved in Bachelor and Master degrees in Engineering Physics. 

In particular:

- Physics of matter;

- Quantum optics

Research: The research activity will be focused on theoretical condensed matter physics, with particular interest on Density Functional Theory (DFT) and/or calculations on correlated and/or topological systems. These topics fall into research areas that are compatible with the guidelines of the strategic plan of the University and of the development plan of the Department of Molecular Sciences and Nanosystems (DSMN).

The position is at the Department of Molecular Sciences and Nanosystems. The Department aims to stimulate research development and scientific education and is characterized by its research in innovative fields. The Department also interacts with local manufacturing firms and businesses, given the importance of its research on sustainability themes. The education focuses on both established research areas and more innovative ones like renewable energy sources, green chemistry, nanotechnologies and biotechnologies. 

The educational pathways offered by the Department are designed to implement the strong interaction between the university and the job market, using a blend of traditional methods and new Lifelong Learning projects (LLP).
