The Centre for Household Finance and Macroeconomic Research (HOFIMAR) is looking for MSCA Postdoctoral Fellows

The Centre for Household Finance and Macroeconomic Research (HOFIMAR) at BI Norwegian Business School (BI) invites researchers outside of Norway to apply for a two-year EU-funded Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action Postdoctoral Fellowship (MSCA-PF).

This highly regarded fellowship gives candidates the opportunity to pursue a two-year research project as part of HOFIMAR and under the supervision of an experienced professor within the field.

Eligible candidates must hold a PhD, have a maximum of 8 years’ research experience from the time the PhD was awarded, and cannot have lived or worked in Norway for 12 months or more over the past three years.

Joining HOFIMAR

HOFIMAR is looking for postdoctoral researcher candidates working in the fields of household finance and macroeconomics. HOFIMAR seeks to address questions on the feedback loop between households’ financial behaviour and the macro economy, and is led by Professors Andreas Fagereng and Gisle Natvik. We are particularly looking for candidates with interests in combining micro data on household behaviour with macroeconomic models. Successful applicants will get the chance to work with the rich Norwegian micro data in close collaboration with experienced faculty.

Interested candidates are invited to submit their research proposals to research@bi.no by 1 August 2024. The proposal should include:

The research proposals will be evaluated internally at BI, and candidates will be notified by 12 August as to whether they have been selected to continue in the application process. Selected candidates will develop their MSCA-PF applications in collaboration with their BI supervisor and with the support of the team for external financing at BI. The final proposal will be submitted online by the MSCA-PF deadline on 11 September 2024.

Timeline

  • 1 August 2024: Deadline for candidates to submit initial proposal to BI.
  • 12 August 2024: Selected candidates are invited to continue in the application process.
  • 11 September 2024: MSCA-PF application deadline.
  • January/February 2025: Results are made public.
  • Spring/Summer/Autumn 2025: If awarded funding, MSCA-PF at BI begins.
