Senior Research Engineer (m/f/d) for Integrated Mobility Planning

Imagine

  • AIT’s Integrated Digital Urban Planning team focuses on researching and applying innovative tools and methods to enhance the reliability of mobility systems and make traveling more efficient and sustainable.
  • Together with an interdisciplinary team of experts you are pioneering new ways to develop and apply novel solutions for multimodal impact assessments in mobility systems on different scales in an international project environment.
  • You enlarge the professional cooperation network of the organization and support the acquisition of new research projects through communication with existing partners and actively approaching new partners.

Engage

  • Based on AIT’s data-driven approaches for modelling, simulation, analysis, and decision-making you identify relevant developments for future mobility systems and translate them into research strategies.
  • Together with your colleagues, you design project ideas, develop detailed concepts, and implement them in prototypical applications to achieve a real impact for the mobility planning practice of the future.
  • You are responsible for acquiring and managing national and international research projects (e.g. Horizon Europe), lead interdisciplinary project teams and interact with partners from the public, private and academic sector.

Achieve

  • You are passionate for innovative mobility concepts, such as MaaS, autonomous vehicles, on-demand and sharing services, and their embedding into the public realm of responsive cities.
  • In this role you become part of a well-established organization and international player in applied research for innovative mobility planning solutions.
  • You benefit from a highly innovative environment in the field of digital resilient cities, flat hierarchies, and a great room for creative maneuver.

Your qualifications as an Ingenious Partner:

  • Master’s degree in transport planning, civil engineering, or related fields
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experiences in national and international research projects
  • Proven experience in writing of research proposals, grant application and project management
  • Familiarity with transport planning tools (e.g., MATSim, PTV solutions, SUMO) would be an advantage
  • Very good English language and presentation skills are essential, German language skills are an asset

What to expect:
The gross annual salary according to the collective agreement amounts to at least EUR 61.614,-- as a basis and is supplemented by further, variable salary components. The actual total salary package is determined individually according to your qualifications and experience.
