Junior Scientists (m/w/d) – Automation Experience Research

Imagine

  • At our Center for Technology Experience, we investigate latest user experience approaches for different application contexts as well as pioneering methods and experience tools.
  • As part of our interdisciplinary Competence Unit "Experience, Context & Tools", you will help us to further develop our research in the area of Human-Computer Interaction, focusing especially on Automation Experience and Human-Centered Automation.
  • Throughout our research projects you will support us in designing, creating and evaluating interactive intelligent systems that lead to relief, trust, as well as to safe and sustainable behavior - This ranges from communication in automated vehicles, to smart home control, to monitoring and control of automated production processes.
  • Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to conduct studies on the requirements of different user and stakeholder groups for automated systems, and to identify potentials for future improvements and innovations from a human-centric perspective.

Engage

  • You will participate in the implementation and positioning of research work in various application contexts (Industry 5.0, Automated Driving, Smart Home, New Work).
  • You will independently create research prototypes based on the respective project requirements and/or planned study objectives.
  • You will have the opportunity to use the latest interaction technologies (such as VR headsets, driving simulators, automated vehicles) and discover new solutions.
  • You will contribute to the design of new applied research projects or the development of contract projects.
  • Through your enthusiasm and expertise, you will actively contribute your knowledge to the team, continuously contribute to the further development of the content of our centers and actively bring your views on the challenges to projects.
  • You position yourself in national and international networks.

Achieve

  • By participating in national and international research and contract projects, you will support the transfer of results into complex application areas.
  • You independently find solutions to previously unanswered research questions.
  • You will develop yourself into a national and international expert and bring your subject area to the forefront of international research and continuously build up your network in research and industry.

Your qualifications as an Ingenious Partner:

  • You hold a master's degree in computer science, human-computer interaction, psychology, data science, or similar.
  • Good knowledge of current technologies (e.g., mixed reality, AI) as well as empirical research methods
  • Ability to communicate and work in a team, willingness to work hard and an independent, responsible approach to work
  • Enthusiasm for research and unconventional solutions, creativity, and visionary power
  • Very good knowledge of English; good knowledge of German an advantage

What to expect:
The minimum gross annual salary according to the collective agreement is EUR 49.280,--. The actual salary will be determined individually, based on your qualifications and experience.
